But let’s not look down on ourselves as “sheep”, i. e. people with limited intelligence and willpower. That would be unproductive and defeatist. We must remember and remind others of what our Lamas teach: “Recognising the instability of causes and conditions leads us to understand our own power to transform obstacles and make the impossible possible. This is true in every area of life… Hopelessness – just like its opposite, blind hope – is the result of a belief in permancence.” (Dzongsar Jamyang Khyentse Rinpoché). So it’s in our hands. We’ve known it all along. For centuries, it’s been a key strength of our culture. Many seem to have forgotten amidst the pain. But we must remember, it‘s our only chance.Mountain Phoenixhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01726933027905675503noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7304792190086448127.post-91383229616625878102008-12-14T20:46:00.000-08:002008-12-14T20:46:00.000-08:00You are like a refreshing mountain stream.... but ...You are like a refreshing mountain stream.... but the sad fact is that our situation today is like that of George Orwell's 'Animal Farm' and the Tibetan people are like the sheep.'Two legs good, four legs bad!' has been replaced by ' Middle-Way good,Independence bad!' As for religious controversies...lets not even go there!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7304792190086448127.post-74270486454022030942008-12-06T18:00:00.000-08:002008-12-06T18:00:00.000-08:00I know Elliot from Bloomington. I am enouraged that a persepctive reflecting the actual world we live in daily is surfacing as the compass to follow within the framework our Founding Fathers provided to safeguard the innate freedom and rights we all are entitled across our world.
I encourage all Tibetan refugees who will not be returning to China_Tibet to organize for a mass Exodus to become a new world community in Alaska. This is the only future that is possible for those to obtain actual advancement for their children and grand children to become citizens of a real nation.Thomhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03304587097395172609noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7304792190086448127.post-29909315311067911332008-12-03T19:14:00.000-08:002008-12-03T19:14:00.000-08:00A cocktail of insomnia and Elliot Sperling led me ...A cocktail of insomnia and Elliot Sperling led me to your blog.

I found myself reading every entry and thoroughly enjoyed all of them.

Thank you and as wine reviews go,"Bold and refreshing.
